Will You Create Cut Lines for My Custom Stickers?
Share
If you're ordering custom die cut stickers for the first time, one of the most common questions is:
"Do I need to create my own cut lines?"
The good news is no. At Occult Print Shop, we can create the cut lines for you, so you don't need specialist design software or experience with vector paths.
Whether you're uploading logos, illustrations, business branding or custom artwork, we'll prepare the cut path as part of the production process.
How It Works
Creating a die cut sticker is about much more than simply printing your artwork. Every sticker needs a precise cutting path so our cutter knows exactly where to trim around your design.
When you upload your artwork:
- We review your file.
- We generate an appropriate cut line around your design.
- We prepare a digital proof if required.
- Production begins only after everything looks correct.
This makes ordering custom stickers much easier, especially if you've never prepared print-ready artwork before.
The Best Files to Upload
For the best results, upload artwork with a transparent background.
We recommend:
- PNG
- PSD
- SVG (where available)
Transparent backgrounds allow us to accurately trace the outer shape of your artwork and produce clean die cut stickers without unwanted borders.
High-resolution artwork will always produce the sharpest printed result.

Don't Worry About Vector Cut Paths
Professional designers often create their own cut paths using Adobe Illustrator or similar software.
If you're comfortable doing that, we're happy to use them.
If not, we'll create the cut line for you.
Most customers simply upload their artwork and let us handle the technical setup.
Tips for Better Results
Although we create the cut paths, there are a few things you can do to help produce the best stickers.
Use Clean Artwork
Remove unwanted pixels or marks around your design.
Even tiny stray pixels can sometimes be interpreted as part of the artwork during automatic tracing.
Avoid Tiny Floating Elements
If your artwork contains completely separate pieces, such as detached stars, dots or lettering, we may either:
- incorporate them into one continuous sticker outline
- create separate individual stickers where appropriate
We'll always choose the option that produces the strongest finished product.
Upload the Highest Resolution Possible
Larger, higher-quality files produce cleaner printed edges and smoother cut lines.
What Happens Before Printing?
If your artwork requires any adjustments, we'll prepare everything before production.
For more complex designs, we can provide a digital proof showing exactly where the cut line will appear.
This allows you to approve the final layout before your stickers are printed and cut.
Custom Stickers Made Easy
Our goal is to make ordering custom stickers as simple as possible.
You don't need to worry about cut paths, bleed, or complicated print terminology.
Simply upload your artwork, choose your preferred finish, and we'll take care of the technical side while keeping you informed throughout the process.
Whether you're ordering one sticker or hundreds, we'll make sure your design is ready for professional printing and precision cutting.
